A few years ago, I made my first wreath and since then I have been slightly obsessed. My goal this year is to have one for every season. I made one for Valentine’s Day today, and I’m really proud of it. The best thing? It was so easy. I thought I would share how I did it, incase you are looking for some decoration inspiration (love that that rhymes).
First, the supplies. A wreath, ribbon, and flowers of choice (all purchased at Michaels). I like to buy the bushes instead of stems because they are less expensive, and you get different sizes of flowers, which gives your product some dimension.
With your cutters, cut off the roses so that there’s just a bit of the stem left. Do the same with the baby’s breath (or whatever flower you choose to use), but keep those stems a little longer, because you’ll want it to stick out a bit.
All you have to do next is start gluing ’em on. I think it worked best when I glued the baby’s breath down so that it would stick out a bit on the side, but the stem would be covered with the next rose.
And just keep going. One thing I love about the rose bush that I bought is that it has different sizes of roses so that it gives the wreath (or whatever project you’re working on) some variety.
After some more gluing, this is the end result. I’m really happy with how this turned out. It is so easy too. Seriously. If you can use a glue gun, you can do this.
I am seriously in love with this wreath. I think it’s my favourite one yet. It makes me happy every time I open my door.
Be sure to come back tomorrow where I’ll be talking about one of my favourite things: pink nail polish.
